South Kaibab Trail: Muddy conditions will dominate over the next couple of weeks. Some hikers may wish to have crampons for the descent between trailhead and Cedar Ridge, especially once current snow melts and then freezes.
North Kaibab Trail: Crampons not needed in either direction. Some winter rockfall on trail. Below Supai Tunnel: 1 to 3 inches of snow turning to mud. Above Supai Tunnel 4 to 6 inches new powder on top of 4 inch base. No sign of ice build-up below the Redwall.
